Emily G. Phillips established Phillips Art Conservation Studio, LLC in 2008 after moving back to her hometown of Essex, NY. Since 2002 she has worked in the art conservation field and received her Master of Arts in Art Conservation with a Specialization in Painting Conservation and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Conservation Science from Buffalo State College in 2008.
Emily has completed internships and mentored under conservators at the deYoung Museum, San Francisco; Straus Center for Conservation at Harvard University, Boston; The Phillips Collection, Washington D.C.; The Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland; The Shelburne Museum, Shelburne, VT and the Restoration of the John LaFarge Murals at Trinity Church, Boston.
Throughout her career she has also gained experience in the area of collections care and emergency response. In 2010, with a group of fellow conservators, The Collections Care and Conservation Alliance was founded and workshops for volunteer based collecting institutions have been held throughout New York, Vermont and New Hampshire.
Emily is currently Board Chair of the New England Conservation Association and a current associate member of AIC- The American Institute for Conservation.
